I’ve finally found a supposedly reputable chiropractor not far from where I live, and have made an appointment to go on Saturday. His office is located amongst a small, hard to find labyrinth of alleyways, so his secretary thoughtfully faxed me a map with directions to get there.

Looking at the map, I noticed many familiar landmarks, but there was one spot that was most conspicuous by its absence, yet it’s a landmark that just about every Farang in Bangkok would know. For those familiar with the area, can you see what’s missing from the map?

And the answer is….

It’s Soi Cowboy of course! – one of the three big Adult Entertainment spots for Farangs in Bangkok, an entire street packed with gogo bars and pool-halls that is impossible to miss at night with its gawdy neon lighting and footpaths crowded with scantily clad girls and drunken punters out trying their luck. I wonder why its not on the map when its the most recognizable landmark in the area…

As my good mate Jane once suggested, at least if I get lost trying to find the chiropractor, I could make my way back to Cowboy and find a girl to “crack my bone”. I somehow doubt I’d get a receipt to claim on my health insurance though.

PS – Mum, if you’re reading this, I swear I’ve never been in those unscrupulous and immoral dens of iniquity, honest injun!
