Where the Bloody Hell Are You!

The title of this weeks story refers to my lovely wife. Many of you loyal readers are probably under the impression that MyTW has been here with me in Sydney for ages now. Well unfortunately you're wrong. She's still in Thailand, living at the family baan and commuting two hours each way to work and back every day.

While her visa application is apparently running smoothly (nobody at DIMA has told us otherwise), it takes about 3-4 months on average for a spouse visa to be approved, so we're only just over the half way mark now, and ticking off the days, weeks, and months until she arrives. Still, my parents saw each other for a total of just six weeks during their 18-month engagement thanks to a small historical anomaly called "The Vietnam War", and they're still together 37-odd years later, so that gives us a lot of strength. And as they say, absinthe absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Songkran in Bangkok

or

koh Racha yai

Next week I'll be YMOTG in Thailand once again as I'll be doing a runner over Easter to be with her. Instead of spending Songkran in Bkk (which is a load of balls. Wet, powdery balls.), we're heading straight down to Phuket for a night, then 3 days on beautiful Koh Racha Yai (aka Koh Raya). Holy shit those photos look good. It's gotta beat being soaked with water and covered in flour everywhere you go for 3 days, ruining phones, passports and patience in the process.

Koh Racha was affected by the 2004 tsunami and there have been reports in the media about more earthquakes and seismic activity in the area. So if you don't hear from me after easter, send out a search party.

MyTW has also been pestering me for months to upload proper photos from the wedding. Please enjoy.
